Our hearts break at their absence. We wonder where they are, what keeps them away, and what can be done to help them home.
Do you see their faces in your mind even now? Perhaps you see your own in the mirror. You're the wanderer; you're the skeptic or the prodigal.
The invitation of this book is this: Come home. No matter where you've been, no matter what you've done, even if you've been away for a long time, please come home.
The great message of the Gospel is the past can be forgiven. Hurts can be healed. Sin can be atoned for. We worship God today because of what Jesus Christ has done for sinful people . . . like all of us.
"My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back, let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins." -James 5:19-20
